Page, thank you for the request to join and the welcome. I've read your blog 'Do You Remember When' and yes I do remember some of the fond memories of the past times as well. You seem to have a wonderful eye for the true values we have had in the past and so sorely miss now. Thank you for sharing these special memories. Mary

We shot special contests in Fl and did a shoot for the military, I won the first trophy of my life for rimfire with scope, then Juli, my best friend, won for rimfire no scope, we beat out the Marines, it was awesome. We had made authentic old timey dresses with the hoop skirts and dressed for the day, it was so fun! Kevin shoots in military shoots where you can only use old military weapons, he always wins, I think he cheats! Haha! You have to make time for fun and never forget to practice that shooting, you may need to be accurate someday! Page

Thanks Page and Kevin! Always enjoy being among like-minded folks. The women who shoot forum....do ya'll shoot competitively? Just curious. Have shot IPSC once. Loved it but time and work don't allow me enough time to get proficient at it.

Hope you had a terrific Monday!

As a teen I rebelled against my step father, but seemed to get into it with the local cops all the time. At 16-1/2 I enlisted in the Navy in Calif., went to Radar/Radio/Electronics school in Norfolk, then NAVPERS decided I was the right type they wanted for Special Forces training. Spent the next 5 months somewhere in Florida going through intensive covert and top secret training, the sent to Gitmo with my team mates of Force One. A year later I was given comand of a special services craft, and ended up facing court martial for disobeying orders and killing 2 Cubans and 5 Russians on a gunboat inside the bay. Missle crisis over! I defended myself under my Constitutional right to not carry out an order that was illegal, and was released from the brigg after the trial with a demotion and transfer to the fleet, but NOT sentenced to life in Fed prison. All I did was return fire when they opened up on me with cannon and small arms. Took me 16 rounds from my port bridge wing 50 caliber and they went BLOOEY!
After 4 more years I was honorably discharged after turning down an apointment to Annapolis and $25K bonus to stay in. They didn't want to let me out as my training and 'for your eyes only' security clearance was not to be allowed in the public sector.
Since then, I've been a Highway Engineer in California, an Architect, a deputy sheriff, a rancher, owned and renovated a sea going charter boat where I met John Wayne, a chasis and body repair master craftsman, an auto major collision instructor at LA Trade Tech, a master mechanic, manager and general manager of several automotive and truck body and mech. shops, an insurance claims adjustor, founder and first president of an equestrian parader's organization, general manager of a large auto body. mechanics, and tow company business, founder of an innovative legal services and legislative liaison business for tow companies, was appointed as California State Advisor to the US Congressional Advisory Board by Ronald Reagan, my horse trading friend, and a builder and mason.
In 1992 I moved to Arizona and promptly became the premier Architect in the high country, started a mechanical and wheel alignment business, bought out a failing mechanic's shop and turned it around, and continued building on the side. In 2004, after I satrted having confrontations over Janet Napolitano's taxing and border policies, and was DROPPED from the voting register TWICE, I decided I'd had enough and sold everything and retired to Oklahoma to remodel our home at the lake and take life easy for a change. CHANGE! What's going on here???? It was supposed to be MY change, not the government's!!!!!!!
Looks like I may just have to bring Force One back into active duty again! As an Oath Keeper I will uphold and defend the Constitution!

I'm a semi-old US Army retire. I joined in April 1968 and retired August 1088. I have two combat tours in Vietnam, August 1968 to August 1969 and 1972. A friend of mine, Phil Lydon sent me the link and I signed up because now I'm being more vigulent than ever before. I never thought that I would be classified as the enemy of the country that my forefathers fought to liberate from England. Now it looks like I'm going to have to fight to help regain that country from a bunch of socialist/communists. We cannot allow them to settle in and consolidate their hold on the country. We will vote and if that doesn't work, other means may be necessary.

Do you remember when..........

we could leave the doors open at night, the car keys in the car, the windows up for the fresh air to blow through? I think we are the only people in a 4 block radius that have not painted our windows closed! Of course, we have a huge dog who is not friendly who is looking out the window, so who is coming in? I used to be gone all day with my horse up the mountain, no one worried about me, my curfew was dark. I was only 8-10 but I was not afraid, I had my horse, who had proved more than once to b… Continue

Everyone Needs Someone to Lean On!

Do you have someone to lean on who truly understands you?

I was reading a post on America Coast 2 Coast- great site- and it hit me, this person does not have a clue what life is like when you leave the military, or when you are the family of the military and they are deployed, or even worse, they do not care what the cost is to the family or service member! I told my Retired, Disabled, barely computer literate, darling husband, we need a place to circle the wagons for the military, retired, act… Continue
